    Hello,

    This past Friday I played Forza 4 all evening. Saturday I don't remember what time, I tried to play again. I launched the game and this is what pops up: Failed to check for updates. Error code: 0x80070422. Please try again later.

    So I just clicked on Enter/OK and the game starts right up, but once in the game I notice I am not online and can't see anyone online. Turns out Xbox Live is not working for me.

    Long story short, I have tried everything I know. Running Window Update, re-installing the game, checking all my connections running diagnostics and still get this message.

    Could someone please provide a solution that a not so savvy PC guy can understand?

    Hi Pyronthabx,

    After you are sure that online gaming will only strike in Horizon 4 (other XBOX games work!!!):
    Sorry, now only the account remains as a source of error!

    First of all, I assume that you have already raced enough races in H4 and are therefore allowed to take part in the Forzathon or the online adventure, for example. (As far as I can get, you have to play a few seasons) ;-)

    The best thing now would be another player already playing online (friend/family)!! For this, you create a new user on your PC that will be connected to their XBOX account. Then it should check if H4 Online works.

    Don't have a player at hand:

    Please check if there is an INGAME Mail in Horizon 4! (There may be a blocking of the account by Horizon 4, but then there is a mail!)

    No INGAME Mail

    Personally, I would now look if I have a system restore point from Friday and would use it.

    Thanks Brad,

    When I get home, I am going to check to see that all my Xbox services are running. That Idea I have not yet looked at. I will post back what I find. If I can ever get to a solution I will also post that.

    Yes, that was one of the first things I've tried. It's a real head stumper trying to pin this problem down. I'm going to keep trying. I should have brought my laptop to work with me to check on these ideas...lol.
