    I tried purchasing a new gamer tag for my son because I wanted to change it and I've tried several purchase options and even put money into his account and am still getting a "something went wrong....try again...etc...." with a long error code as pasted
    below. Any help would be appreciated!

    I purchase to use a new gamer tag it was inappropriate and now I'm trying to be able to pick a new one out.

    hi,

    I am trying to change the Microsoft account where the gamer tag is linked. I have a gamertag downloaded to the Xbox more then 30 days ago and I have a new Microsoft account without a gamer tag. When I try to move the gamer tag to the new account I always
    get the following error: Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account. For more info, go to Xbox.com/AccountSwap

    What am I doing wrong?

    I did signed into Mixer with that Gamer Tag: . I changed my Gamer Tag recently maybe it changed there. My new Gamer Tag is Crusader Colin. Try that one.

    Maxen13, when I purchased something from the console, no error code popped up. The error code pops up when I try to change my gamer tag. Next time I go on, I will post the error code here.

    try changing the gamer tag on the old account then you should be able to use that gamer tag on your new account.

    Why can't we have a free gamertag change like we did with the 360

    If your Xbox One is your home console you can always make a new gamer tag and play on that while renewing and purchasing content with the current gamer tag. Just a thought.

    How to use an online pass on both my consoles

    The online pass that you redeemed is linked to the Gamer Tag used when you entered the code. That Gamer Tag can access the Online Pass by logging into either console. If you want your Son to be able to access those features he needs to either log in under
    that Gamer Tag or purchase a new online code for his Gamer Tag. The codes are one use only and only work for one Gamer Tag. Sorry if that isn't the news you wanted but hopefully it helps you.
