This could be the cause of your issue please check here:
Xbox Live Service Status to check if things are back to normal. Once the Service alert is over you should be able to sign in without further issue.

Hi there, what's the error code you're seeing? Sometimes you can't connect because there are weird profile issues going on, I see it a lot in these very forums. Post the error code as it's easier for us to help that way.

I would actually be deleting the profile from the console (profile only), clear the system cache, restart the console and re-download the profile as my first step of troubleshooting, especially if you're receiving profile error codes.

Delete and re-download profile:
support.xbox.com/.../profile-move-delete

Clear system cache:
support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

Brosky aP, i have checked that solution and have been able to clear my system cache, otherwise it seems to be somewhat of a catch 22. The solution says to delete my profile, clear my system cache, then redownload my profile. The problem is, if I can't connect
to xbox live in the first place, how can I download my profile?

As I understand it, the 80151909 error is attributed to something with a faulty profile. So I don't understand why it's affecting my connection to live.

Perhaps laitoo is right and its because of this xbox live system error that is supposedly only affecting matchmaking in certain games. If it is, I hope they fix it soon. I want to actually use the service I'm paying for.

Yes, I did run a Xbox live connection test, and the error occurs at the "Internet" phase. I Cleared my system cache, and I tried to download my xbox profile, but it says I need to connect to xbox live to do that, so I can't

Well, I cleared all profiles, rebooted the system, cleared the cache three times in a row, just as instructed. I download my profile at this point, enter my info, it pops up saying I am connected and shows me how many friends are online (Note, it did this
earlier as well), and then just as before, error code and I am back at the dashboard with no profile logged on.

So now I start to wonder, is it my HDD? So I grab my old spare from a year or two back, try that, try to connect, same error. I then follow the same instructions given here, same error.

I have no idea what is happening. I can connect just fine with my other gaming systems, my router is fine, my PC is fine, so I am at a loss as to what is going on.
