Error streaming Destiny 2 from Game Pass app

Just wanted to follow up on this for anyone else that should search and run into a similar issue.

After a few MS support chats it was discovered that you need to own all the DLC first.

The error in our case was caused by the fact that Destiny 2 and destiny 2 Forsaken are considered different games. If you own Destiny 2 and its DLC you cannot redeem the second season pass if you dont own the game Destiny 2 Forsaken as again its classed
as a different game apparently.

I failed to realise the season pass for Forsaken doesn't include forsaken...

So in short if anyone else has a similar issue check if you can redeem the pass if you dont own the base game, even if the base game is now a piece of DLC.

As for buying the pass separately, you can't yet, as not available to purchase yet on it's own.

I sincerely doubt that Destiny 2 is going to be an entirely new game. It will most likely be a different version of what already exist with updates and stuff.

Also, in regards to the season pass in Destiny 2, I don't see Bungie / Activision changing their scheme of having the base game at $66.00 (taxes included) and the season pass at $44.00 (taxes included).

However, what I do see is the difference in the amount of content that will be in the base game and the expansion DLCs from the season pass.

I believe that Bunge / Activision have learned from their mistakes from Destiny 1 and will pack in more content in the base game and the expansion DLCs from the season pass.

As checked on the game here https://www.xbox.com/games/store/destiny-2-shad... it is no longer being offered as part of Game Pass. Before, it was part Game Pass. It must be the reason why you were able to play the game. Please note that Xbox Game Pass catalog is updated from time to time, it adds new games but also removes some games.
