    Hello, I've spent hours on the phone to Talk Talk and got nowhere. I can't connect to X Box live, I have Fibre Optic plus Powerline Extensions, where the light in the middle is not lighting up either. It was ok last week apart from disconnecting quite
    frequently. I'm so frustrated at what the problem could be and have disconnected, restarted and rebooted everything!

    Error status and have not been able to connect since 4/13

    No error codes at all. I was on the phone for about 3 hours with my ISP and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. All I am getting is the status.

    Xbox One S Can't Connect to the Internet - I've gone through ALL trousbleshooting

    Hi everyone,

    Let me preface by saying that I have spent hours on the phone with both Microsoft Support and my ISP.

    My Xbox One S can't connect to my ISP - using a modem/router from TP-Link (TC-W7960).

    I've done 10+ hard resets on both products - following the instructions of the Microsoft support people - but nothing worked. The most common error message I get is "there's a problem with your ip address.. can't connect to automatic ip... and some error
    about DNS".

    Interestingly, when I connect to my router/modem settings, I can see the Xbox One S "online".

    This is very frustrating, especially since tech support on both sides can't seem to figure this out.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hiya, thanks for the reply. Yes I''ve reset my powerline extensions, swapped them round, synced them, put the yellow cable in a different LAN, P.C. is working fine, Talk Talk have tested my line and all ok. checked everthing is plugged in correctly, checked
    loose cables. I have restored to factory defaults on Configure Network 'additional settings' now that is all 'Not Set' When I test 'X Box Live Coonnection' it doesn't get past the 'Network' symbol and says 'Test Failed there is a problem with your connection'
    I have noticed the middle light on my Powerline Extensions are blank.

    If this light is off when you connect your console to this adapter, what happens if you switch cable and connect your computer instead?

    Just out of curiosity, have you try to connect your console with a different Ethernet cable?

    Are both adapters connected to your mains electrical socket, or do you use a power strip to connect one, or both of your adapters to?

    Did you pair them as follows:

    "If you’re unable to connect your two Powerline Adapters, then press the Pair button on one adapter for 2-3 seconds (the Power LED will start blinking after you release the button).
    Within 2 minutes press the Pair button on the second adapter for between 2-3 seconds. Your Powerline LED light should then appear solid."

    If it's possible, try connect your console directly to your router/gateway, to see if a direct connection will work.

    Yes it's the house symbol, I've tried a different Ethernet cable still nothing and both adaptors are plugged into the mains socket on the wall, I've synced them and re-set them, still nothing. "If this light is off when you connect your
    console to this adapter, what happens if you switch cable and connect your computer instead?"

    My PC is connected directly to the router, I can't connect the X Box directly to the router as it's 12ft away from the router if this is what you mean? Is there's anyway I can connect directly to my PC or a way to bypass the adaptors?

    This isn't possible as my tv and console are on the other side of the room, about 12ft away from my desktop PC, I already have one power line adaptor near my PC and it's not possible to connect PC to power line adaptor. I have rung Talk Talk again as nothing
    seems possible and they are sending out an engineer on Friday so maybe he can figure out what the problem is! Thanks for all your suggestions you have been very helpful indeed. I will let you know what the engineer comes up with, going crazy here!

Took him 2 minutes, after hours on the phone to Talk Talk and great frustration i'm now re-connected, thanks for your help again Error Status...can't connect, spent hours on the phone and at the end of my tether! :)))

    Update! The engineer finally came round and replaced my power line adaptors, as they were faulty! Took him 2 minutes, after hours on the phone to Talk Talk and great frustration i'm now re-connected, thanks for your help again :)))

    Are you able to connect your PC to the same Power line adapter you connect your console to? If necessary, move the location of the Power line adapter to a wall socket close-by to your computer.
