Error ode 0x87e0000f The Witcher 3, NEW Xbox One Elite. Tried all posted trouble shooting ...

So lets start at the beginning and prevent people from posting things that have already been posted on other threads. This is the ONLY product I am having this difficulty installing. All others, disk and DLC work fine and downloaded without issue.

1. I contacted support. They had me do all the standard methods to resolve the issue. None worked. They even had me uninstall and start again.. twice. They had me Power cycle. They had me unplug, re plug. They had me unplug wait five minutes replug.
We've even tried resetting the console to factory.

2. I looked on google. Found several article referencing problems with the hard drive being the cause. However, since five other games have installed fine, one from disk, the other four from online this is not likely. However, as an attempt at self trouble
shooting I purposely hooked up a USB drive to the USB port and told it to try installing on that disk. It stops at EXACTLY the same point every time.

3. I've tried using a different DNS. No luck.

4. I've tried changing to my cellular hot spot (just for giggles to see if it would solve the issue)

Other stuff that's interesting:

1. The game starts to install without issue. Reaches "Ready to play"

2. You can start up the game, and get to the menu.

3. You can load games that were saved PRIOR to the DLC being installed and the game will load and run

4. If you try to load any save spot made after the DLC was released and installed, the system tells you to please wait while it gets the content. The progress moves to 53%. Then "Installation Stopped" with the error code above. If you exit, reboot,
etc. You can come back into the game, try loading the save and the progress bar pops up.... 3%... and INSTALATION STOPPED.

My assumption is that because this issue is on day 4 that it's likely an issue with the developer side and not MS (A missing file, etc on their distribution server that is needed for the DLC to be reinstalled, but not needed for new users)

Support has offered no additional steps and seem to be dead in the water. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Help with code 0X87DD000F

I have been unable to sign into my Xbox Live account on my One for the last 3-4 days, but I can on my 360! I keep getting error code 0X87DD000F. I've tried all the trouble shooting tips that I've seen online, but nothing has helped!!

Greetings friends,

So i tried to load up my xbox one elite (the 1st run not the xbox one s) and i got the "Something went wrong" error. In the trouble shooting menu, I tried to factory restart.

my xbox cycles power but ends up loading back to the trouble shooting menu.

i tired downloading the update to a usb stick that is in the correct format and plugged into the usb ports in the back. i started to the the system up to the trouble shooting menu and the "offline usb update" option is unavailable option.

i got it used from gamestop but if the extended warranty is over, what other options do i have? will i be worth my time to bring it to a Microsoft store?

Xbox One game installation stops troubleshooting page. You an also try to install the disc on a different Xbox One if possible to see if the issue lies with the disc. If the issue does not occur with a different console, you may need to have your Xbox One

I thank you for answering, but sorry to say that because you didn't read the details closely that you'll need to try again.

The game is a DLC.

The game installs fine on my other xbox (yes I have two of them)

The game has the exact same failure on KRAZYKILER's console and is stopping a the exact same point.

ALL OTHER GAMES INSTALL FINE. This rules out a console issue as any defect, including an hard drive issue would have by this point failed to install any of the other 10 games.

I have installed a second HD and tried to install there. All games install fine on the external, but THIS GAME stops at exactly the same point every time.

I still believe the issue is within the distribution of the game but may only show up under some unknown circumstance. I expect the publisher to resolve this. I'm more than willing to provide any help, but until I can be guaranteed 100% that a replacement
will fix the issue, I'm not open to returning a perfectly functional system and wait weeks for it to show up just so it can fail at the exact same point.

I would uninstall the game off my other XBOX to see if it's a problem to get it installed, but my wife is still playing it and both of us would like to be able to play the next expansion in the future.

I'm going to wait unil after the Thursday Update, and see if it fixes the problem. If not, then I'll be calling support and will need o speak to someone a bit higher up than the call center.

 

IT INSTALLED!

Alright, this is weird, but it seems that the problem was related to my wife having purchased the expansion under her login. After todays update to the new XB1 UI I decided I'd try one last time.

I uninstalled, then logged out. Logged my wife in. Installed.

It installed without issues.

I don't know completely if it was the UI update or her login completely, but I did try to restart the installation as myself after the UI update and it would fail. Once I installed, from the beginning as her, it worked fine.

Licensing issue is my best guess.
