Discus and support Error: must have Xbox 360 hard drive to play Destiny in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I have both a usb that i use for older games and that is a 32 gig drive, and i have an xbox360 hard drive that i use as well. im still getting this...     I have an xbox360 rainbow drive with 500 gigs for my xbox360 E and i kept getting the boar error code. Now I'm trying to reinstall it and its taking a while but I couldn't find the compatibility pack 2 after searching on bungie's site. It was really weird
    and I don't know what's going on.I have a different xbox now than I've used before though so I'm not entirely sure how to use it. Advice????

    The hard drive requirement is mentioned on the packaging and in the digital product description with "(NOTE: Xbox 360 Hard Drive is required. USB Storage is not supported.)" The reason that many of the newer and larger games are requiring an actual hard
    drive is because of the transfer speeds a hard drive offers over a flash drive.

    As for going so far as to call it "extortion" you have to remember that MS had nothing to do with the development of Destiny to implement the hard drive requirement. And with the business relationship the Destiny franchise has with Sony right now, I doubt
    Bungie would offer MS that luxury if it was avoidable, especially considering the loss in their own sells they might face with the requirement.

    Im getting *** too. My actuall console only holds 8 GB and destiny needs 20 according to my case. So how should I go about this since people are making me confused with I can use an external harddrive or I cant

    I have a brand new hard drive in my Xbox and it still says You must have an Xbox 360 hard drive in order to play destiny. Like Fr what am I suppose to do now?!

    @Beauty -- Where did you get the Hard Drive from? I've read that some sketchy people on eBay and Amazon are selling fake hard drives that are essentially just flash drives.

    I'm haveing an issue too im useing a 74 GB and it says that it need an Xbox 360 hard drive and well I don't have one Microsoft please fix this

    ^^ MS/Xbox doesn't make a hard drive that is 74GB in size. You need an official MS supported HDD.

    I cant play Destiny, i have an Xbox 360 USB its says "Xbox 360 then sandisk on the back" but every time i try to put the game in it tell me a friend is playing then it will tell me i still need an Xbox 360 USB. whats the problem?

    ^^ Just a heads up, Victim, but that could get your console banned for tampering.

    Also should mention that this is the Xbox One forum for Destiny. If people are having issues with the 360 version, you may have better luck on that forum: forums.xbox.com/.../default.aspx

    Also, if you have a 360 HDD, why would you use a flash drive?! The Xbox 360 will allot 32 GB for external hard drives, no matter what the size of the external can hold. I'm assuming this is also why Destiny will not allow external hard drives to be used,
    since the game will go past that allotted 32 GB.

    Check ebay or other sites like that. Hard drives are DIRT cheap. I have a 120GB one that I thought would be worth some money. But they are about 5-10 bucks online.
