Error message while using movie DVDs

Never mind guys ....forgot I left a home movie I put to DVD in the drive while powering on . The xbox one. We'll you'll get that error message if you try that ... Ejected the disc at startup and it worked fine .

Hi, i have the same problem but for only few dvds. I have the lord of the rings extended edition box in dvd and all the dvds (the movie itself is 2 dvds and all specials stuff are on 2 other dvds) of the first movie doesnt work and xbox says that error message.
Strangely all the other dvds of other movies are ok, they work fine­. It's all working fine in a regular dvd player. I tried to cold reboot xbox and eject many many times, dvd are perfect clean, still doing it. Had to reinstall "old" dvd player to read it.

Also does your friend receive and error messages or notifications when his DVD fails to play?. And just to clarify the console plays games OK?.

if you are receiving an error message that the disc region is not supported or similar message, then it means that the console and disc do not match region wise.

The only option to do is to get a Disc for the correct region or a Console that matches the region of the Disc.

My first xbox one would play games. It would not work with any blu ray movies or dvd's. Error message 0x97d001? The error message would just flash on the screen with only way to stop it would be to turn the console off.

My current console now plays games, commerical blu ray movies and dvds. It will NOT play bdmv blu ray movies that I created on BD-R or BD-RE disc. It is something Microsoft choose to do. (the disc play on Sony's Playstation PS3 and PS4). I wish Microsoft
would "allow" the bd-r and bd-re disc to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
