    Hi there,

    Im having an issue that's really frustrating me at the moment. I've bought the game pass, and I've attempted to download numerous games on multiple drives and not one game will launch without giving me this error message.

    This specific message is from trying to open Minecraft Dungeons. Its the exact same message whether its downloaded in the C drive all the way to my F drive, and any game whatsoever has the same thing. Would appreciate some help, thanks.

    Hi,

    There is a big misunderstanding of how the Xbox App works on PC. The Xbox App is not a stand alone application like Steam, Origin or GoG Galaxy. In terms of downloading and even running games, the Xbox App is like a portal. When you chose to download a PC
    game on the App, the download is sent to the Windows Store App, and it is the Windows Store that does the download. The Xbox App doesn't download anything.

    Like wise, any error messages you get while downloading content using the App are Windows Error codes. As far as I can determine 0x8007001f is a Windows Update error.

    Have you tried to repair your Windows install using the

    Windows 10 media creation tool?

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to help.

    Does it show any game? That error looks like a connection error. Close the app and restart your PC. Once the PC opens, don't open any other programs just open the Xbox (beta) app and see if you are getting the same error.

    Open the Microsoft Store app and click the profile icon in the top right corner. Are you logged into the same account in the Microsoft Store as you are in the Xbox (beta) app?

    If that doesn't help uninstall the app by right clicking the app in the Start menu and then re-install the app from the Microsoft Store app. Restart your computer and try again.

    Gears 5 wants to pre-install on the wrong partition

    I had the same problem when I started the app download from the Xbox App on PC, what I did to fix it was uninstall the app entirely from the App and Features option in Windows, then I closed the Xbox app and reinstalled the Gears from the Microsoft Store
    and that downloaded the 66gb to the correct partition. The error seems to be on the Xbox App.
