error message telling me Xbox Live isn't working right. HELP!!!

please try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

It might also be worth it to try and reboot the network hardware like modem and router.

After doing both please run the network test on the console to see what information is shown.

Thank you for reaching out! Could you provide some details as to what is going on? Make sure to run a connection test and check for any issues that may be going on.

1. Press the Xbox button
   to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select Network.
5. Select Network settings. Any known outages will appear in the middle of the screen.
6. On the right side of the Network settings screen, select
   Test multiplayer connection.

Can anyone tell me why none of my games will launch? I can sign in to my account, but say sorry service isn't working right now and check xbox service status Xbox status says gaming is working but mine isnt. Any help?

My girlfriend was experiencing this issue on her brand new xbox and brand new account just now. It is fixed for us, I signed in as her on my xbox, sent myself a message and it went through. Had her try again from her xbox, but it still wasn't working. Then
I had her try to send me a message by selecting my profile and hitting Send Message from the "Friends and Clubs" menu instead of the Messages menu and that one did go through. Then I had her try from the Messages menu again and that one also worked.

Shortened down: Try sending a message through the specified player's profile first, and then try replying to the conversation again if the first attempt is successful.
