Error message E73 on an Xbox 360 Pro

When turned on Xbox has one flashing red light on the lower left and displays error message E73 -- "system error. Contact Xbox customer support." I went on the support site and went through all the troubleshooting steps (unplug/replug, remove hard drive,
remove accessories) and was told to schedule a service appointment--only as y'all probably know they've discontinued all service to 360s, and anyway the warranty expired back in '09, so it seems like I'm out in the cold. Can anybody help?

Original Xbox 360 E74 error message- Solution

If your Xbox 360 has failed because of the E74 error, you’ll see the following message on the screen when you turn on your Original Xbox 360 console:

System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support.
E74

If you see this error message, you must repair your console. The warranty period for the E74 error is three years from the original purchase date of the console. If the warranty period expires, you’ll have to pay for the repair.

With no other official ways to fix your console, you're out on your own. Of course, nothing is stopping you from using Google to figure out what terrible hardware design gives you this unfortunate error.

 

Hello! When this happened to me, the HDMI port needed to be changed. Thats why they tell you to contact Microsoft, Im so sorry.
