    Hello, I recently tried to play Sacred Gold, my dad handed it too me as a gift for my birthday, he knows that I am a retro-games enthusiast, I have a Windows 10 Pro 64bit machine, I installed the game then I tried to open it, I got the following error "Error loading x64 driver. Did you forget to reboot?" After this I thought to myself, (Oh , I just have to reboot it), I rebooted the PC then tried to launch the game but still, I got the same error, I tried to run this game in compatibility mode (Windows XP service pack 2 ) and as a administrator, still, I got the same error, I tried to run it with Windows 98/ME Compatibility but it said that I don't have the CD in my pc even though it was in and my pc was reading the CD, can someone please help me? I really want to play this Gem of a game.

    William Dias gave a very good explanation and solution for this error:

    "I understand how difficult it is when the device or app is not working as you expect, but it seems that you are trying to install a game developed for Windows XP over W10. Aside from the system versions being completely different, games have other requirements that need to be met such as: B. a specific version of Directx.

    The older games like this usually require Directx 8 and Windows 10 is not natively compatible with older versions of Directx 11. Some things in Directx 5-8 use APIs that have been discontinued and don't work well for the latest versions of the system.

    What you can do is check the game's requirements and try running an old OS with the appropriate Directx version in a virtual machine and install your game there."

    So since Sacred Gold is only compatible with Windows XP (as far as I know) I would suggest you to create a virtual machine on your computer with Windows XP installed and try to install and play the game through it.

    I'm having a problem on Windows 8.1 Pro x64 I with the mediatek driver too. I installed it and just had the device manager go online and find the driver. I've had several crashes, an instant reboot and I just woke up to a reboot and crashdump.
