Hi there,

Remeeming errors can be caused by issues on the account itself. Be sure to check if your account/billing information is correct at http://billing.microsoft.com and also check http://account.microsoft.com/services for any outstanding amount issues, these need
to be sorted prior to being able to redeem codes.

After that try redeeming the code on both xbox console and via xbox.com/redeemcode

Also check that the Xbox Live account, the console and code all match region wise, using different regions for any of them cause issues too.

If you can't find anything wrong and it is still not working, best thing to do is to contact official Xbox Support via Phone or Microsoft Support Chat at http://support.xbox.com/contact-us they can do a more indepth look into this issue.

please try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

Also try to go to account.microsoft.com and verify that all information is correct.

Lets check some things . If you log into this site using your Account:
http://enforcement.xbox.com/home , check whats the big tile on the left is saying. Any enforcement / ban on going?

If not please do the following:

Please press and hold the white Xbox Button on the Console itself until it shuts off.

Unplug the power wire for 2 mins.

Replug after that and start the Console.

Try again

If thats not working out either, try do remove your Profile from the Console: (make sure you know your email / Password combination of your Account before that)

Go to Settings->All Settings->Account->Remove Account.

After that restart your Console in the way described above and redownload your Profile.

If thats not working try a Softreset.

Go to Settings->All Settings->System->Console Information & Updates->Reset Console

Choose to Keep your games and apps if prompted.

Report back any outcome or if you have additional questions.
