    Problems Buying Online

    I used to get an error code when I wished to buy but then I found out that it was because of some issue with my credit card. I contacted my credit card company and they did an online verification and then I was able to make my purchase.

    Remeeming errors can be caused by issues on the account itself. Be sure to check if your billing information is correct at
    http://billing.microsoft.com and also check
    http://account.microsoft.com/services for any outstanding amount issues, these need to be sorted prior to being able to redeem codes.

    After that try redeeming the code on both xbox console and via xbox.com/redeemcode

    Also check that the Xbox Live account , the console and code all match region wise, using different regions for any of them cause issues too.

    If you can't find anything wrong and it is still not working, best thing to do is to contact official Xbox Support via Phone or Microsoft Support Chat at
    Contact Us | Xbox Support they can do a more indepth look into this issue.

    A little help, please?

    Gold cards are not restricted by region. Only points cards. What is the error code you are getting? I have heard that in the States cards must be activated by the retailer so perhaps that is your problem.

    ya im getting error code 80169d3a its really annoying .just trying to get my gold on but your not letting me . do i have to delete my card payment options to use pre paid redeem code cards ?

    Are you trying to add prepaid gold cards or did you add a gift card and are trying to buy Live with the money from those?

    If you're trying to add a prepaid gold card, what error message/error code do you get when you try redeeming on the console?

    If you added money to your account, it's not possible to purchase gold with that money. That money can only be used to purchase games and other contents from Live. Gold can only be purchased via credit card/Paypal or by purchasing a prepaid gold card.
