Error downloading game updates

My Xbox 360 Slim has been very slow signing into Live for the past few weeks. I read a post that said clearing the system cache might help so I tried that but no change. Today I tried to play a game (Red Dead Redemption) and because I'd cleared the cache
it wanted to download a title update. I told it to go ahead and after a few seconds I got an error code of 4174-0000-d080-0200-8007-045d. I tried a different game (State of Decay) that I had downloaded but never played before and it was able to download the
title update. Then I tried a third game (Deadlight) that I had played before and got the 4174-0000-d080-0200-8007-045d error code again.

If I copy my profile to a USB memory stick, remove the hard drive, and boot the console it will download the update (to the USB stick) successfully. It also solves the slow sign-in problem.

Same issue

I have issues downloading updates for games and I'm getting error code 807B01F4 again.

 

Assassins Creed IV Update Download Error

Just tried again after a powercycle and waiting 24 hours and no change. "There was an error downloading this update. You need this update to play your game. Would You like to test your connection? Your connection is good. Would you like to try again? There
was an error downloading this update".

That's all the information I get.

 

I did a search on line for the error code and it came up with a possible solution. Save your profiles to a USB. Format your xbox harddrive.Transfer the profiles back and put in a game and try.
