Error: Couldn't save your privacy and online setting.

What do I do if it says the parent in my Xbox family can only make changes to my settings but I don't have ANYBODY except me in my Xbox family?? I went to the family section on Xbox.com and again it's only my profile...

If it is asking for consent on your account can you confirm a couple of things for me please?

1. Is the date of birth on your Microsoft Accont under the age of 18 years?

If yes then although you don't have any accounts linked with it it would require consent.

2. On your Xbox 360 dashboard, navigate to the far right the family settings, click on it and see

there is any accounts associated with that account. If there is, that may be the primary account

which is what it wants consent from/

There is another way to see directly if your account is associated with any other accounts.

Depending on your enforcement history it does not matter as you only want to view if it's linked with any other accounts.

Step 1. Sign in

Step 2. On the far left sideof the screen after logging in, there will be a big box either saying Perfect record, or past enforcement action on family accounts. If it just says perfect record click on that, and in the sub categories see if there is any more
accounts linked to that account.

Really it is strange that it's asking a parent has to change settings. The only other thing I can think of is if the account in question was ever associated with a Family Pack subscription, and although discontinued you never left the family.

You can easily sort this, if that's the problem by going to the Dashboard far right to Settings. Click on Account, and then click Promote Account. This will make the account and adult account and may solve your issue if that's the issue.

Hey there JEBISNINJA2016! Could you tell us what error you see when you try to save those online privacy settings?

For those of you who are having the error code 8C230002 here are some solutions that are in the volunteer database.

Solution 1: Check the Xbox Live service status. ( at the current time purchasing services are up and running )

Solution 2: Adjust your privacy settings

If you're using an adult account, sign in to this account, and then make sure it has unrestricted access to content. You can adjust your settings on your Xbox 360 console or online.

Adjust your online privacy settings using your console

1.Sign in to the account that's having the issue, go to the Settings hub, and select Privacy.

2.In the Privacy & Online Settings panel, select Change Settings.

3.Select Customize.

4.Scroll down and select Member Content, and then set it to Everyone.

Adjust your privacy settings online

1.Sign in to your Microsoft account.

2.Under Security & Privacy, select Xbox privacy and online safety.

3.Select Xbox 360 Online Safety.

4.Select the account you signed in with, and then set Social Network Sharing to Allowed.

5.Select Save.
