    Error codes 0x80169CF9 & XBOS3008 when redeeming Prepaid 12 Mo XBL


    I keep getting these errors. I believe the card originally on my XBL account has been replace (I currently have a Visa and PayPal linked to my account). I understand that my subscription has to run out before I can add new prepaid codes, but that isn't
    until 12/2017. Is there any way my subscription can be terminated and then given the equivalent remaining time back in separate codes so that I can add this 12 month code.

    Oh, and if you're wondering why am I paid up so far, its because I purchase deals on XBL whenever I can, and add them to my account (this problem never cropped up before, but it might have something to do with my new CC).

    I purchased and have received and redeemed the codes for the games but seem to be getting an error code trying to redeem the 12 Month Live code.

    Xbos-0x80169CF9

    Any ideas? It just suggests trying again later.

    Error XBOS3008 occurs when redeeming a prepaid code on Xbox One or online

    You see the error code when you try to redeem a prepaid code on an Xbox One console or online

    This error may be caused when you retry a failed transaction

    Sorry to hear you're having issues with this. The code you posted means that you cannot add more time until the membership runs out. There is no way around this. You could call phone support and ask them to cancel the membership but you would not be offered
    an amount for the time remaining.

    Xbox Live Code error Xbos-0x80169CF9

    A possible clue for MS...

    I set up an adult account a week ago on a trial subscription and then removed the credit card info figuring I would use a prepaid card before it expired to limit the CC exposure. I tried to redeem the code for a 12 month prepaid XLG and received the subject
    0x80169CF9 error.

    I then setup a child account with a trial subscription today which required the CC info and I left it in place. I then was able to redeem the code used above without an error on the child account.

    I then went back to the adult account and re-added the CC info. I still get the 0x80169CF9 error code trying to use a 2nd 12 month prepaid XLG code. I then tried to buy a 1 month membership using the CC info and it gave the error:

    (hopefully you hackers can't pull the CC info from that data :) )

    I guess I'll wait for the trial subscription to expire next month and see if the redeem code works then.

    Meanwhile, MS, you might test setting up an account in a similar fashion to see if you can recreate the error and then track down the cause.

    I have no idea how to make a thread so I was wandering if one of you guys could help me out, you see I've had issues with trying to redeem a 3 month membership it comes up with an error code I've looked everywhere for a solution and cant find one. I cant
    even get in touch with Microsoft support either I'm on xbox pretty much 24:7 so if anyone has a solution to help me out I'd much appreciate it if you can get in touch with me.
