I am trying to renew my Xbox Live account and I receive this error message when I put in the code from my prepaid 12-month subscription card:

PUR-ConversionBlockedCurrencyCountryMismatch

I live in Canada and all of my billing info and locations specify that I am in Canada, so there shouldn't be a "country mismatch". I have had issues with my account before in regards to downloading the free games from Xbox Live Gold where it seems to have
the same error. I have contacted customer service in the past and they were unable to find a solution. Someone, please help!

Hi,

I wanted to buy another 12 month of Xbox Live Gold and I got this error message:

PUR-ConversionBlockedCurrencyCountryMismatch

I was able to buy some games (couple of weeks ago) and EA Access (yesterday) without any problems.

It seams that it is a country problem, but I checked both xbox and account preferences and everywhere is Germany set as coutry of residence (correct, as I live in Germany).

Could you help me with this one?

Can you check in
https://commerce.microsoft.com that your billing address is set in Germany as well?

If everything seems to be in order on your side, you'll have to contact the official support via
Contact Us | Xbox Support or since you're in Germany call:

Toll free: 0800 181 2968

or 0695 007 0422

They are available Mo-Fr: 09:00 - 18:00 and Sa-So 10:00 - 18:00

The official support would then have to check your account why it thinks you're trying to do a currency conversion.

Make sure your xbox location is set correctly: Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select Settings. Select System. Select Language & location. Select your location from the list, and then select Restart now.

You could also check to make sure your microsoft account region is set correctly, and this can only be changed once every 3 months: Please read the warnings before you move if you do move.

If you still get the error and your country and region are both correct and the code you bought was a card made in your region, Canada, then please contact xbox support directly about this code problem: Contact Us | Xbox Support

Hi, maybe the code was not originated for your country... where did you bought it?

Where did you buy the code from? I know once I would a code from online and had this issue because the code was for another region. Luckly, the site was a reputable site and they did give me another code for my region.
