Error code playing original xbox games

Hi I had an old 20 gb xbox 360 hard drive that came with my xbox 360 when I bought it back in 2005. I used it for a few games then abandoned it once I got a 360 gb harddrive which I transferred all my data over from the 20 to the 360 gb. Since the 360 gb
hard drive I found out wasn't an official hard drive I decided i'd just use it for xbox 360 games but I really want to play some of the xbox games that I haven't played since I bought the 360 so I tried putting in my 20 gb hard drive and planned on making
it purely for old xbox original games and even bought some that I wanted to play but never could afford when I was younger. Well that didn't end up going so well hehe. I updated the 20 gb hard drive after installing it again to make sure it would play them
and they did play but would stop usually just before the game would start to play and give me an error code like this

• X: 5829.0 B: 1884.0

This confused me considering I read everything and I did all the proper steps to ensure I would be able to play and all my discs are in perfect condition that i've tried. Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

or the xbox s 4gig console?

if you have the xbox 4gig console then thats not a HD thats flash memory

you need a offical xbox hd and not 3rd party and what error are you getting

it has to be an official microsoft hard drive in there, as cloned ones don't support the emulation required to run the games. That was the awful day I realised that my hard drive was a clone... they look so convincing. I went and ordered an official 320GB
one after that.

 

it could just be they are no longer supported maybe?

 

or maybe somewhere in the process the xbox didn't fully update, have you tried to up date you xbox using a usb stick

 

The is no 360gb hard drive for the xbox 360 so you have an unofficial hard drive,that's why you are getting that error messege.

You must have an official microsoft hdd to play backwards compatible xbox games.

 

Like I said I know the 320 gb hard drive(yes I accidentally wrote 360 since I had that number stuck in my head) is not an official hard drive. However the 20 gb hard drive I was using specifically for old games I know for a fact is official as it came with
the system on the release day of the xbox 360. Hence the confusion since it should work but it doesn't.

 

What is the game or games that you are trying to play? Are they on the list of backwards compatible games?

Won't matter if the games are on the list or not,if the 320gb hdd is not an official microsoft hdd then the games wont play anyway.

 

Yes HomegrownSilky, its Jade Empire which is backwards compatible.

Daft Badger i'm using an official microsoft 20gb hdd for older games. I can 100% guarantee its official since I got it on the day the 360s were released. Actually was a pretty fun little camp out.

Have you tried clearing the cache on the 20gb hdd & redownloading the emulator software?
