ERROR CODE E305

I am having the same issue with a brand new XBox One. As soon as I took it out of the box and plugged it in, I got the E305 error. I tried following the instructions to load the update on a USB, but then I got an E101 error. Tech support was no help with
either error message. They're only solution it seems is to wait to get a new one. They made me feel like it was my fault the PoS XBox 1 doesn't work.

THIS IS VERY POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT!

Plus, now it looks like my kids won't have it to play on Christmas unless I want to buy a whole new one...

Someone, please provide some practical help to resolve these issues.

We have a troubleshooter for this particular error code. Please check out this
E305 troubleshooter and run through all the steps. Let us know how it goes

I'm sincerely sorry to hear about the issue. I saw you posted this into a different thread so I split it here so you can get support tailored specifically to you!

I see you have tried a USB already, but I recommend trying that once more. Follow the steps on our

Offline System Diagnostic Tool support page and be sure to download OSUDT1. If OSUDT1 does not help, download the "Restore Factory Defaults" file.

If you still experience this issue after trying the factory reset, the console will need to be replaced. If you are within the exchange policy at the retailer you purchased from (usually 14 - 30 days depending on the retailer), I recommend exchanging through
them for a new Xbox One console. If they cannot exchange the Xbox One console, I recommend starting the replacement process through our Online Service center.
