Error Code 801540FE

    So 3 days ago my account was working on my Xbox 360. Then today ( May 31, 2016) I tried accessing my account on my Xbox 360, and it loaded, but immediately gave me an error stating "Your parent's Microsoft account isn't valid. Your parent needs to choose
    a different account to manage your Xbox profile." So I followed all the step on there, trying to fix it, with both the my parent's original account and there new one, but nothing would work. My Xbox Live profile works on my computer, but not on my Xbox 360.
    This is very ingratiating as my account was fine 3 days ago, but isn't now, and that I'm spending money on an account that doesn't function properly. I just wanted to watch Netflix, not to have to do all of this stuff, spending 2 hours that I could be watching
    Netflix on trying to fix errors that refuse to be corrected no matter what I do. Please someone help me.

    I tried to sign into my gamertag today and it gave me a message saying that my parents Microsoft account isn't valid, and gave me the option to either change it or play offline. I tried to change it, put in all the info (trying both the same info as
    the old parent account, and a new email) and after accepting the terms and conditions it says that Xbox Live signup is currently unavailable. So I'm stuck not being able to sign in online. I have tried MANY solutions, but none seem to work.

    Sorry to hear about your account troubles. Unfortunately the solution to fixing this is contacting either Chat or Phone Support.

    Not sure what would cause the chat boxes to not be editable. Have you tried a different browser program?

    Error Code 801540FE

    I had this issue when I accidentally deleted the parent account (though I restored it later).

    My solution (Xbox 360):

    1. Re-link the child account to a parent account on Microsoft family (parent account's age must be over 18), if not yet linked. Ensure that when the child account is added to the Microsoft's family system, the child account is added as a child.

    2. Ensure that the child account s age is under 18

    3. Ensure that the child account does not possess any payment options (credit card, debit cards etc.). If so, remove all payment options.

    4. Set up the parent account's Microsoft Account options to ensure that it is a valid account. If possible, also try to add a payment option for the parent account.

    5. On your Xbox, delete any profiles associated with your parent and child account (Main menu > Settings > System > Storage > Hard Drive > Profiles > (Select profile) > Delete)

    6. Sign in to the parent account on your Xbox, followed by the child account.

    I believe this issue has nothing to do with an invalid parent account, in fact I think it s caused by an invalid CHILD account, just that the Xbox error handler doesn't have an error for invalid child account. I tried to tackle this problem before by using
    another Microsoft parent account, but that didn't work, so I changed the CHILD account s settings and viola!

    Not quite sure if the steps above can be replicated on an Xbox One, but the fundamental concept should remain the same (modify child account).

    I have the same problem too and spent 3 hours with support online and on the Phone on Sunday. They couldn't solve it. I even tried creating a BRAND NEW Live/Xbox account and the exact same error occurred when I attempted to login to Xbox.com after creating
    the Live account.

    I was told by the support representative that they would escalate the issue and call me back this week. Still haven't heard anything yet. I was hoping this was a temporary server issue and would be fixed by now. Doesn't seem like Microsoft are even aware
    of an issue !!!
