This worked for me after 5 frustrating days. Turn off your xbox. Go to
live.xbox.com/.../Signin on your desktop or laptop. Sign in with your email and password. Browse through your profile and stuff but don't change anything. Then sign out, and turn on the xbox and try again. Worked for me, and the kid on youtube who posted
the solution. I think signing in on the pc refreshes your profile on the xbox live system and clears it up. Anyways, hope this helps.

 

Same thing happening to me. I read that restoring network settings back to default will help, but it is still not working! I can connect to the internet just fine on my other account that has silver. But for some reason my gold account will not work. If
anyone has a solution PLEASE let me know. I am going on to my 4th day without live working and it is very frustrating...

delete and redownload profile if that does not work verify security proofs on account.live.com

MOST of these cases are resolved that way....

 

well I have gold....signed up for another year a little over a month ago....paid etc. I was having the same issue as everyone else. Deleted the profile now when I try to download it5 it won't work and to make matters worse anytime I check my connection
I get all the way through, but the "matchmaking" is *** up and there is a service alert so who knows how long this will take. I went a full 3 months last year not being able to sign on with NO help from the xbox folks....but they never refunded me 3 months
of gold membership....even though I paid for it, but wasn't able to use it.

 

Is it time we give up on microsoft because they refuse to listen to it's xbox customers? Yeah I think so.

 

i just read all of your messages had same problem so when i signed in on my account on my laptop and then tried my xbox it worked so give that a go

 

I guess I will chime in on the topic since this is the only place that anyone will give a $#!t because clearly Microsoft doesn't. I tried the profile browsing with no luck, clearing the cache didn't work, refuse to cancel and restart my gold membership with
9 months left on the account and won't fall for the old "delete my profile & re-download it again" ruse. I would probably have more luck resolving this with voodoo magic & animal sacrifice. Guess I will suck it up and camp out on my phone with "tech support"
to get the same answer everyone else has gotten about Microsoft "working" on the problem. Maybe with escalation I will be back online before the summer equinox.

 

Just like to add that logging in to live.xbox.com helped me also for same problem. Thank *** for community help coz absolutely no help from admins/techs. Cheers fellows.

I just heard from my friend he has the same problem. I think it might be because we were both signed in at 2 different locations at the same time. We played Left for Dead together for a while. Then he was playing World of Tanks with my account on the Xbox
while I played Halo on my WP8. He didn't sign out of my Xbox before he left and tried to download World of Tanks at his home.

I'm just guessing, but believe that to be the cause of the problem.

Change one thing on your avatar and save it, then redownload your profile. Problem solved!
