Error code 80151901 when connecting to Xbox LIVE.

I haven't been on my 360 for a while but when I booted it up I was greeted by that error code. I've tried to reset my router but it didn't help and I tried to boot without the HDD in too.

Also, I'm on an old dashboard I think and when I tried to update via USB it wouldn't work

I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I might have the solution to help you fix this problem.

Solution:

Delete the profile you are trying to sign into (Profile only, NOT profile and items)

Clear your system Cache

Re-download your profile from Xbox LIVE

I dont have a profile on my xbox because I cant download it.

 

It is not just you I am having the exact same issue as you on two separate profiles & two separate xboxes in my home. I called my ISP and they informed me that Xbox is down it is not our connections.

He said to wait a bit and try later.

I'm on Virgin Media and I've had this issue for about a month.

 

Not sure if this is relevent but my router gives my 360 a weird IP because it's not 192.168.0.x

just been chating wth microsoft its a problem on their end also strating to effect xbox one as well. the also said to try a again later they are working on it<

 

Still got the same issue. Had it for over a month. I done some reasearch and apparently it's a problem with ip conflicts. I tried to assign the IP manually and still have the same issue.

grrr

 

No customer support? ...

Also I noticed that the IP that was assigned to the Xbox started with 169.254 which apparently isn't good.

Any help?

You are correct! 169.254.0.0/16 address is an address that a device assign to itself when it can't obtain information from the DHCP server. If your console is unable to communicate with the DHCP server on your router, it can't obtain a uniquely assigned
IP address, address for its default gateway, DNS server address.

If you haven't already, try connect your console with a different Ethernet cable, if the current one has become faulty.

Just tried that and it didn't work. Also tried to bridge the connection through my PC and that didn't work either. I also tried to setup the ip settings manually and still get that error. These were the settings.

IP: 192.168.0.9 (Not used by any other device)

Subnet: 255.255.255.0 (Checked at ipconfig/all through cmd)

Gateway IP: 192.168.0.2

 

Did you run the Ethernet cable from your console directly to your router?

Are you sure your default gateway has the IP address of 192.168.0.2?

Use cmd with 'ipconfig /all' (without ') and post up the IP address for your 'Default Gateway'.
