Error Code 80150017 for Irish (& possibly UK) Customers

Burnout Paradise on XBox 360 was available for free this month for Xbox Gold customers. However, I could not download it no matter what I tried.

On Xbox 360, I would get the error message 80150017 - Sorry, something went wrong. This isn't available for your region, or the file is corrupted, or we don't recognise the format. Find more info by looking up status code 80150017 at www.xbox.com/errorhelp
- while using a website or Xbox One simply told me that "My purchase could not be completed. Please try again later".

A call to Microsoft identified that while, I was registered as an Irish billing customer, my IP was showing to them as UK and as such I could not purchase Irish content from the UK.

So I checked my Vodafone Ireland IP address using different web resources - IPLocation.net and Speedtest.net identified me as in Ireland but findmyip.org identified me as in the UK while cmyip.com identified me as the UK Department of Work and Pensions !!!

I did switch my router off and on and got a different IP but the same problem remained :

This Vodafone Ireland community thread (How To Use Our Forum - Vodafone Community) shows that I am not the only "UK Department of Work & Pensions" (The conspiracy theorist in me wonders whether that is a euphemism for UK GCHQ
intelligence gathering in Ireland)

For a finish, I took my three.ie mobile phone down the road where I could get a decent 4G connection (which is terrible in and around my house) and was able to purchase Burnout Paradise through my smartphone using this other service provider's IP address.

I wonder if others have come across this problem. And does it affect UK customers like it does Irish customers?

you do realize what the conditions of REGION locks are right?

your account region IRISH

your physical location IRISH

but you are accessing the UK marketplace so that changes you to the UK content and account

so you have account marketplace region UK

physical location IRISH

Marketplace = MISmatch

that is infact why you are getting the error

it does not matter if you purchase other content

region locked content requires you to be physically there

COD and halo and etc you can only buy the irish version

 

Download Fable III for Free

When I trying to download the fable III for free the XBOX Live window shows an error message "Sorry, somethong went wrong..." "... Status code 80150017"? On support error guidelines there´s only information about error 96-80150017 not for 80150017(only)

Someone could help about that, I would like to download this game.
