Error code 8015000A and Status code: 8C150009

Hello. I bought a second hand Xbox 360 to replace my old one since the dvd-player stopped working. I started it up and managed to download my profile with no problem at all.

I then inserted a game and when it prompted me to download an update I agreed. It downloads no problem but as soon as the bar is filled it gives the Error code 8015000A.

So I searched these forums and found out I had to do a license transfer. When i when into the Account menu I get the Status code: 8C150009. But I can click it away and enter the menu. And I managed to do the license transfer since now iy says that I transferred
my console license and have to wait four months to do it again.

Still whatever I try to update, be it games or apps such as Netflix, I get the error code 8015000A. Also whenever I go to Accounts I get the same status code.

I am stumped as to what I should do. The old xbox works just fine. Except for the dvd...

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. You can try the steps for the

8015 error. Make sure to try all of them and let us know how it turns out.

Thanks for the reply Crystal. It's the xbox slim with a really small harddisk of 3Gb, but in the menu it refers to it as a memory card. So I guess it's built-in but I'm not syre. Bought it second hand without the manual as a replacement for my old xbox 360
arcade where the dvd stopped working.

Considering everything pretty much works as intended except for this and seeing as it is a second hand replacement I guess I'll just leave it at that.

Unless someone has a compelling reason for fixing it besides it being a nuisance?

Hello Diego.

I can still enter the accounts menu, but for exampel handling my subscriptions is not functioning.

I actually started out by clearing the systems cache since that was the first thread I found on this forum, but despite having done it twice it doesn't alleviate the problem.

Since I got the xbox working and I can install the game patches , even when using the fibre internet, this status code issue is the only fault remaining. But it bothers me.

Does it give you that error code but then are you able to continue into the settings anyway, or can you not access your Account settings due to this error code?

I recommend re-installing the system update and see if that helps. To reinstall the latest Xbox 360 update, follow these steps:

Clear the system cache. To do this, see the "Clear the system cache" section above.
Roll back and then reinstall system updates. To do this:
1. Press the Guide button on your controller.
2. Go to settings and select System.
3. Select Storage.
4. Enter the following button sequence: X, LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X.
5. Select the option to roll back all system updates that are installed. The console will restart automatically and then download the updates again.

Good idea Crazy, but that did nothing. Still the same status code.
