Error code 8007007A - Need help!

Two days ago, I awoke to find my xbox 360 giving me the code 8007007A - after reading the error code and following the steps given find myself unable to download my profile from xbox live. Been dealing with support, but got on the forums today to realize
this exact problem has been recurring over at least 4 years under different codes, but over and over I read the posters reporting the exact same problem and symptoms. Why hasn't this overall problem been fixed before now was my first question- then my second
was why are they having us go through deleting profiles knowing it won't fix the problem? Given that it is a recurring problem, why does it take SO long to fix it? Normally I try to be patient with computers, as I was a computer programmer a long time ago
(COBOL era). It just does not seem enough is being done for an recurring problem.

Getting error code 8007007A

I have been getting error code 8007007A for several days have done everything they have told me to do now can't download my profile back in or get on xbox live keeps giving me error code. ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

 

It is brutal, sick of token appearances by support here with the same bs solutions. Been paying for something i cant use for 3 days now.saw a post about deleting your alias which fixed it but you lose your email account by doing so, about to try i guess
its up to us to do their job.

 

UPDATE: Issue is fixed.

Turns out microsoft, for some reason or another, deleted my hotmail alias, so it didnt work for signing in, but could still receeve emails.

So the alias was removed, i can now log into my xbox correctly, but now EVERY.SINGLE.ACCOUNT associated with my hotmail.com email address no longer works.

i asked them if they could repopulate the alias so i could change my email address, and forward my important mails (like my god damned flight tickets which are now gone) but i've had ZERO response as soon as i said i could log into my xbox now.

thanks microsoft, problem *** fixed i guess...

 

What if you don't use Hotmail? All I have is my AOL email address which I use to sign into my Microsoft account. Is there anything I could do in your opinion?
