Tried everything above and nothing works.....infinite loop of hell

 

I took my usb drive out of my console and it worked

Sorry to hear about the update issues. If you are continuing to experience this error code while trying to install the update, I recommend trying a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can get this issue sorted.

Please give the following steps a try:

• First, clear your Xbox 360 system cache 3 times.
  
• Power cycle your Xbox 360 console.
  
• Once your console is powered on, try downloading the update again.

If you are still unable to download the update, copy the update from your computer to a USB flash drive by trying the following steps:

Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system. For information about how to format a USB flash drive, see the “Format a USB flash drive” section of Xbox 360 USB flash
drive support.

1. Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
2. Download the update file.
   
3. Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.
4. Unzip the file. If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
   
5. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your USB flash drive (for example, E:\). Do not copy the contents to another folder on the USB flash drive (for example, E:\Files).
   
6. Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.
7. Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.
8. Restart the console.
9. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.

or you could try all that and it not worlk like me, and then decide to turn off the console and re seat the hard drive and all be ok again once i turned it back on.

 

I reset the system cache, I removed the last system update with LB,RB,X,LB,RB,X.. nothing worked. So I used the USB update method instead.
http://www.xbox.com/update <-- click the USB link, download the file, extract to the root of your USB stick. Power down, insert stick, power on, update. Done.

 

I am having the same problem and have connected to the internet successfully so has to be a microsoft issue I think. Please help

 

hasn't worked. Can't download profile as will not connect to XBOX live until the update is done.

Cleared cache, no change.

Tried USB update, doesn't do anything. Using FAT32 USB.

 

try LB-RB-X LB-RB-X LB-RB-X on the hardrive

 

Tried that no change. Will try somone else's ISP next

 

Guys I am a parent not really in touch with the Xbox apart from the price. I have the error you mention, we have not used the Xbox because of this for at least six months. Did anyone successfully clear this problem today? Thanks in advance!

 

hello im still having issuses. I cleared cache, restarted modem/xbox 360. ran the update again and still nothing. I can connect to xbox live but cant do anything else without the update... Frustrating

 

Can anybody help. I just bought the Resurrection game pack for Call of Duty Black Ops. I down loaded it but I don't see it in my game. Where are the new maps. I look and says it pending but show in my account I've paid for it.

 

Take all your usbs out then do it it just worked for me

 

There are multiple methods for updating. This error code is not listed among the common ones which people encounter in the HELP area.

I cleared my cache and put in my Skyrim disc - the game I had purchased, before dusting my 360 off - and the update seemed to occur just fine, then. Some updates, according to the help information on updating, are actually included on game discs.

In my case? It worked.

(I had been waiting for the rumored, Xbone-version. But, found out it was nothing more than a rumor. And, I hadn't actually used my 360 since 2009, so it had a bit of updating to do!)

 

I'm going to give up on xbox....i have been loyal for years and now you completely obliterate my online capability.....from now on its playstation.......you lose bill gates...thanks for the help, no one to call, no answers to these problems....im done with
