error code 417f-42fc-1380-267f-c000-0185

Still having the same trouble and error code. I tried everything included in troubleshooting section, but still cannot get the update to work. I tried flash drives, cds and dvds, clearing system cache, lb,rb,y, lb, rb, y, pretty much everything. When will
a fix be coming?

i'm sorry to hear that (this update issue) has happened to so many of us...

thing is now what will Xbox/Microsoft do for their community that's been affected ?????????

 

I have this problem too. tried everything and nothing works...

 

I am also having this same problem. Started on Friday Dec. 5th. I have tried everything in the troubleshoot section and nothing seems to work. My xbox wasn't having any problems until this update.

 

i just spent a hour talking with a microsoft/ xbox guru ??? nah you about as smart as a brain dead rat...

he said i was "quote" a isolated case and that updates wont crash your xbox or cause hardware issues...i must of had hardware issues prior to the update , simply wouldnt accept that this was a problem that had occured to a multitude of ppl ... this is utterly
un acceptable

 

Everything was working perfectly until this update!!! Waiting for an answer here.....WHAT IS THE FIX????????

 

My xbox 360 is also having the same exact problems. I've tried all of their steps on their error code forum, to no avail. I've tried USB and CD, clearing cache, testing network, taking out storage devices and inserting them again, and still nothing. It is
happening to so many people this update, and I am giving up on it. I will just wait until I can afford to upgrade, since that is probably their goal. I may just spend my money on a PS4 instead. Maybe they wont have so many bothersome, inoperable updates.

Thanks Microsoft for helping us so much by saying it's our consoles whenever there are so many people having the same exact problem

This is still unresolved, I presume. That is over a week, and people are still having the problem. Thanks Microsoft and LS.

 

I am also having the same problem, only my error code is 417F-42FE-1380-267F-C000-0185. I don't know if this related for sure or not, but it all started after trying to do an update a few days ago. I've tried all of the suggestions I can find an nothing
is working. I never have issues with my Wii or my PS4. Why so many problems with my X-Box? Any help would be appreciated!!

 

Maybe they do this in hopes of people going out and buying an X-Box one. It's kind of ironic it happens right before X-mas. Just sayin'......

 

Crickets from Microsoft.... Come on support team, please escalate this.

 

They are not going to help us. They want us to spend our money trying to fix our xbox, or buy the One.

UPDATE: xbox still cant process update. Now not only that is messed up, but after trying to downlaod the update to my USB, it has unformatted it, so now, whenever I CAN get a new xbox or this one fixed, I'll have to format my USB again (which deletes everything
on it...and that includes my Xbox Live profile), and that is the worst thing ever. Xbox is truly worthless.

Sorry to hear about the update issues, I can definitely understand how frustrating that could be. If you are continuing to experience issues updating your console, I recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps:

First, make sure that you have enough storage space. If you do not have enough free space, you need to move or delete some items. Copy, move, or delete Xbox 360 content. Once
you have made sure you have enough storage space try the following:

• clear your Xbox 360 system cache 3 times.
  
• Power cycle your Xbox 360 console.
  
• If you’re using an Xbox 360 Memory Unit or a USB flash drive instead of a hard drive, remove and reinsert the memory unit or USB flash drive.
  
• If you have a hard drive, try removing and adding the hard drive again.
  
• Once your console is powered on, try downloading the update again.

If you are still unable to download the update, copy the update from your computer to a USB flash drive by trying the following steps:

Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system. For information about how to format a USB flash drive, see the “Format a USB flash drive” section of Xbox 360 USB flash drive
support.

1. Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
2. Download the update file.
   
3. Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.
4. Unzip the file. If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
   
5. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your USB flash drive (for example, E:\). Do not copy the contents to another folder on the USB flash drive (for example, E:\Files).
   
6. Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.
7. Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.
8. Restart the console.
9. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.
