I also have the EXACT same issue. error code 417f-42fc-1380-267f-c000-0185. I have the 4GB machine. The 4GB memory is now missing from the machine.

This needs to be brought to attention of the XBOX team, PRONTO. It looks like an xbox update totally borked the machine!!!

 

Is this a joke? My 360 was working totally fine & they sent out an update that messed it up & now I'm responsible to pay to fix it?!?!?!

Make sure you follow the steps in Misses Quinzel's post above if you're having any issues!

 

I have the exact error code as well. I just followed all steps to try and move passed it. Cleared cache, removed previous updates, FORMATED MY HARDIVE, changed connection, stuck it on a USB. I have great internet so its not my internet. This my second xbox
I had to buy because of faulty stuff like this. Now I have to buy my third? My Xbox was just fine before the stupid udate.

I have the same problem. Very nice that such an update just destroyed my entire profile. I only have one harddrive which is now *** completely. Profile gone, all saves for all my games gone... just love it!

I'm starting to ask myself "Should I even bother to get everything running again just so I have to start EACH AND EVERY game from the beginning?" -> Maybe switching to another console (no names mentioned here) would be the better and easier solution.

I can totally understand that Microsoft (or however's responsible for that) tries to put most of their effort into the new Xbox One, but then please just leave us Xbox 360 players alone and don't give these stupid updates.

After spending 10+ hours with online and phone techs with no success, I'm convinced the solution is to buy my kid a playstation. It just sucks that he got a truckload of xbox gear for his birthday right in front of the update and NEVER. GOT. TO. PLAY. WITH.
ANY. OF. IT. I'm over it. I appreciate the offer to pay $80 for you to fix it, but that's 1/3 the price of a new system that's not an xbox. My Nintendo Wii from 2008 still works like a champ. Maybe I'll go back to that. Thanks for nothing. M

Tried updating through USB and still not working.

 

hi there sorry you all having trouble, i would like you to try something (this is a theory) if you are updating on xbox reset your router with the correct ports open and internal firewall turned off and try the update again

.

if you are going for the usb option then do the same but in addition to that on the pc that you are downloading with turn off any anti virus and firewall softwear off there too prior to downloading the update

.

reason for my theory is that i havn't had issues with xbox updates but my apple updates are affected by these all the time with similar outcome

Any update on this? My xbox is fairly new and doesn't have many hours on it. This is really, really frustrating Microsoft. I am now also out of warranty. **VERY FRUSTRATED**
