    I can't launch any of my digitally downloaded games without receiving this code 0x8b050033 update needed. The error code says xbox live servers are under maintenance and to just try later. The servers are not undergoing maintenance at this time. I have
    tried power cycling, resetting my xbox (keeping games and apps), my network connection is good and tgere are no problems with xhox live or the titles i am trying to access. i have uninstalled red dead redemption 2 (all 120 GB of it), reinstalled and was able
    to play once but after i turned my xbox off the error code came back. Now none of the games will start. Has anyone else encountered this problem on xbox one s? Does anyone have a solution?

    When this happened to me I had luck with removing my account from the system, doing a full shutdown, and then restarting and adding my account back. I am not sure what happened but somehow my account got bugged and this allowed it to completely refresh.
    Your game saves should be in the cloud so you do not lose anything by removing your account and then adding it back on.

    Hello Jay,

    Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand have issue with error and launching anything. Here are a few steps to try and see if it helps.

    1. Do a “hard reset” of your console by holding the Xbox on button until you hear it switch off.
    2. Select “Stay offline”, and then attempt to manually connect to Xbox Live via the dashboard
    3. Set your console to “Instant On” in the console settings, and then do a hard reset
    4. Attempt to remove yourself from the Xbox One Preview Program (if you’re in it)

    I would try a hard reset of the console by holding the power button for ten seconds before releasing and pressing the button again.
