    Error code 0x803F8001 for all games on new laptop


    Since I got a new laptop yesterday, none of my owned games are woring on it. Every game that I own, either paid for or run through GamePass, has this error and no fix is working to solve the problem. Everything still works as normal on my old laptop and my Xbox X so I dont think it's an issue with my account, but I cant think of what else it could be. Gamepass shouldnt be limited to a number of devices, and even it it was, surely it would tell me if I had exceeded the limit

    It looks like you posted something earlier regarding the same issue where my colleague has responded.

    According to our support article Error 0x803F8001 This may mean there is trouble checking usage rights, or that the game is no longer on Game Pass. There is no limit to exceed, but you cannot be logged into both at the same time.

    • Have you confirmed the account you're trying to use is the same account on both computers?
    • When you login with that account on Xbox.com does it show the same gamertag you use to play your other games? If not, check your account you're using, as a Microsoft account may not be the same as an Xbox account.
    • If the game or app was installed digitally by someone else, have that person sign in to Xbox Live.
    • Have you tried the steps for troubleshooting game installations on a Windows device, including uninstalling and reinstalling the game? This link will also help you reinstall the gaming services app for Windows under the "still having problems?" section.
