Error Code 0x80070490

I got a Samsung Smart TV from a friend. I hooked my X1 up to the tv, now it just shows and stays on a black screen with the error code 0x80070490. I tried to connect to a known working tv, but it shows the same thing.

When I initially hooked up my X1 to the new tv, I did have my Amazon Firestick USB plugged in for a power source. Could that have messed it up?

0x80070490 error code comes up when attempting to play a blu ray or DVD.

I'm sorry to see any display issues! It does look like that you've been able to get the console at least to the Home screen, according to

your public profile at the time of posting this. Are you still running into errors? If not, post back with what got you sorted out! This will help users that run into this in the future know how to fix it for themselves.

If you are still running into this, you may need to do a factory reset on your console. When a console doesn't go to the Home screen to access the settings, you can get to the Startup Troubleshooter by following these steps:

• Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.
• Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
• Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
• Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.
• Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
• Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

From there, you should get the Troubleshooter screen and you can select Reset this Xbox to do a factory reset.
