Error code 0x800703ed

After the latest update that changes the xbox dashboard my external hard drive got completely wiped

Tried to re-download lost games on both external and internal hard drives and get the error code 0x800703ed

It keeps telling me to try again later or search error code. Have been trying for four days so far to no avail, error code is not listed in error code search.

Previously posted in another thread and moderator?admin said to create a new thread as this is a little different to other hard drive issues people are having.

Can't download COD:IW Legacy Edition

I tried downloading my COD:IW Legacy Edition and it won't start. My connection is good and it just gives me this code 0x800703ED

Hey there. What all have you tried to fix this? If you haven't already, unplug the external drive and any other USB devices and go to the Settings tab, and Turn off console. When it shuts down, unplug the power cord from the back of it for 5 minutes and
try again. If you're able to download something to the internal drive, turn it back off and plug the external drive in and see if you can get that to work.

If that doesn't work, my best guess is that you will have to do a factory reset

I looked into that error code, and while I couldn't find anything Xbox related, it is the same error code Windows can give for corrupted memory, so I do think that a factory reset and probably a format of the external drive will be necessary. To figure out
if it's just one or the other, try using the console without the external drive, and if you're having problems do the factory reset. After that, try using the external drive, and if you're having problems with that, go ahead and format it and start over. Hopefully
it doesn't come to that.

This is all speculation on my part, but it is what I would do if I were in your situation.

this is happening to me also, but my error code is 0x80a4001b

But when I put the code in to the error code search it says there's no error code like that.

I forgot to add this link, the error codes are given for a reason, you may find it handy if you get error codes although not every error code gives a possible solution.
