Error Code 0x80070005 when trying to make new apps save to the D Drive

Please double check if the desired drive is already formatted as NTFS.
For this open file explorer > my computer > right click on the drive > properties > next to file system

If everything looks good, please double check if you have at least one of these folders in your drive
WindowsApps, WpSystem, XboxGames

I know I downloaded Xbox games before on this drive, on this current PC. I am unaware how to completely wipe all of the xbox game files though, if its even possible. But Yes I do remember downloading some games on my d drive, just never on another PC. Im guessing the easy way out is a drive wipe?

In my windows apps, I have folders that when I open them I see some files to MFS or other xbox app games. The thing is they are permission locked. Whenever I try to put myself as the owner of the folder, well I just cant because SYSTEM is greyed out and it wont let me change it at all.

I am positive this is the source of my problem, but I have no luck trying to delete it. I tried force deleting them using CMD but no luck.

Thanks for the extra information, before considering a drive formatting and to isolate the problem a bit more, let’s try something a bit more different.

Try creating a new NTFS partition using some of the free space in your drive

After that go to windows settings > system > storage > advance storage options (this only if you’re on Windows 11) > where new content is saved
Under apps select this new partition / drive

Restart the PC and give it a new try

I checked and its formatted as NTFS, I also have the folders "WindowsApps" and "XboxGames".
