Error Cannot Install Games

Hello Just brought Two Games Tried installing one only to get an error message saying it was taking too long. It wasn't installing at all and just was sitting at 0% Tried another game it was the same thing. Need help

I removed my account and added it back. Unfortunately it did not resolve my issue. Thank you though. I have posted on a couple of forums and this is the only place so far I have gotten suggestions.Click to expand...

Is the game you're trying to install a disc based game?

If so, as soon as a disc tries to install, and the console detects an update for the game, it'll download the update while also copying unchanged parts from the disc. However, if a lot of the update is replacing data from the "beginning" of the disc, and
depending on your internet speed, and the size of the update, the percentage can stay at 0% for quite some time.

If you want to have the game installed right now, you can try the following procedure:

Go to "My Games and Apps", try to find the partially installed game, and press the "Menu" button on the controller (the small one with the three lines next to the Xbox button).

Manage the game install, and uninstall everything from the game. If you played the game before on a different console, also check and delete possible savegames from the local storage. If the savegame contains information that it is from a newer, updated
version, the console will still try to find an update for the game.

Then go to the settings of the console, and in the network settings, set the console to offline mode.

Then try to install the game from disc again, while your console is offline.

After the console has finished installing the game from disc, make sure your console is in "Instant On" mode in the power and startup settings, and that you have checked the setting to keep your games up to date.

That way, the console will download game updates in the background, while your console is turned off (into connected standby). And then, maybe the next day, when you are ready to play again, your console has finished updating the game (if your internet connection
was fast enough, and the update was small enough to be downloaded during that time. If it's a 70GB Behemoth like Halo's Master Chief Collection, and you use a slow internet connection, you might have to wait longer for the game to be updated).

i installed ac 3 and now im getting game error instead of cannot read disk

Richie, thanks for the response. Unfortunately I have tried these suggestions but I tried them again...

1. I ran the Troubleshooter and it found no issues.

2. Gaming services cannot be uninstalled as the box is greyed out. The only way that I have been able to uninstall gaming services is via the Powershell commands.

I have also found that xBox app cannot identify the default install location under Install Options.

So I have 3 notable issues, Gaming Services will not install (Error 0x8007007e), Gaming Services actual services will not start (Error 87), and XBox app cannot identify default installation location.

I followed these steps but now I cannot test Halo to see if it works because I get the follow error when I try install the game: Error Code 0x80070424 it wont even start downloading
