Error 80151901 and other issues

This error code has been popping up for me a lot lately, and based on the threads, it's not just me experiencing this problem. I have used the forums to try and find a solution, which every post has the same solutions:

1) Delete your profile, not your profile and items

2) clear system cache 1-3 times (based on different post)

3) redownload profile

I have done this twice now and I still get these issues.

If it helps, here's my set up:

I have an xbox elite console, which has had no issues other than a disc tray issue where I have to keep a disc in it and sideways or it won't open

I use a wifi adapter to get wifi, because I don't have any Ethernet ports anywhere nearby, and this wifi is shaky at best. I disconnect often, but for this I'll blame the network for low quality internet because we "aren't located within city limits" (Verizon
is terrible, don't use them).

In relation to the above, I frequently get signed out and have to sign back in, which usually works for all of ten seconds before doing it again, which the process then repeats a few times before stays steady for an hour or so. This could be my adapter,
because my computer doesn't have these issues.

Half of the time when I sign in, I get a pop-up to add security. I have added each one of these a few times, and wherever it tells me to go doesn't work because it cuts off the address.

Please assist with this problem, and don't tell me to reset my cache and profile because that clearly hasn't worked. If this many people are having issues, and some continue to have these issues, it's not the cache.

Can't sign in too live error code 80151901

Playing on a slim model. Been having issues of getting signed out of live a lot and today can't sign in getting the error code 80151901.

Have you already tried the
troubleshooting steps for Error Code 80151901?

[/quote]How bad are the odds for you to try connect your console with an Ethernet cable, instead of wireless? I would highly recommend this as an option, or at least, try alter your router's wireless channel, if the current channel in use is getting occupied
by close-by devices, operating at the same radio frequency.

If you use the 2.4 Ghz range, use the non-overlapping channels, 1, 6, 11.

I would also recommend you to power cycle your networking equipment and restore your console's network settings to factory defaults, to issue new IP configuration from the DHCP server on your router.

Go to Xbox Network Settings and select Configure Network. Select the Additional settings tab and Restore network settings to factory defaults.

Power off your modem and router for a couple of minutes. Power on the modem and wait one minute for it to connect properly. Power on the router and wait another minute.

The odds aren't high for Ethernet. As I said, I don't have any ports in the room I'm in, or really many in the house for that matter, so Ethernet is a no-go. I also don't really want to do a factory reset unless it's required because I don't have everything
anymore (DLC discs) and would rather not lose it. I reset the modem and router though, which has helped. It usually only lasts a week or so before it has to be done again based on past experiences. Hopefully it keeps that error from popping back up. So far
it's not appearing.

 

Restore your console's network settings to factory defaults will only affect your console's network settings. It has nothing to do with DLC, or anythings else for that matter, part from your console's network settings. It will only erase your console's network
settings to 0 and your console have to ask the DHCP server on your router for new information, regarding IP address, Subnet mask, it's default gateway, DNS information. That's all.

You may consider the alternative to alter your router's wireless channel, as per my previous post, if you experience intermittent connectivity further ahead.

For the time being, keep your settings and see where it takes you.
