    Error 0xc101ab66 when attempting to play a rented movie


    I'm getting a message of :

    "Can't play. Please try again. If the problem continues, visit xbox.com/support to check for guidance

    0xc101ab66"

    When trying to play a movie (X-Men First Class) that I just rented from the Xbox store (on my Xbox One S). All my owned movies and TV shows play fine.

    Searching support, the forums, googling, etc. doesn't turn up this error code. I've restarted the Xbox, deleted the movies and TV app, restarted, and then reinstalled it, without any change - going to play the movie immediately leads to that error message.

    Trying to watch the movie The Crucifixion. Got about a third way through when the movie suddenly stops and error code "0xc101ab66" pops up. Tried to look up the error code but no go. so now what?

    Films app won’t play my rented movie

    The Films app is working and playing trailers fine, but when i go to play the movie i rented (Abonimable), it comes up with error 0xc101ab66. I have tried everything from reinstalling the app, redoing profile, turning console off but nothing.

    Can’t watch shows I’ve paid for code 0xc101ab66

    I downloaded several movies for marathon weekend and after a couple of movies in the morning (Sydney, Australia time), when I tried to play the next movie (Maleficent), I got subject error message 0xc101ab66 in early afternoon today - 22 Feb 2020.

    I found this post for error code 0xc101ab66 and tried to go to https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/games-apps/apps-help/troubleshoot-movies-and-tv-on-xbox-one per suggestion of user Jayhab4real. Now I got a new
    error code 0x80070490.

    I still tried and was able to re-install the film/tv app but still got error code 0xc101ab66. I give up !!!

    I'll wait tomorrow if XBOX will fix this as there's now 386 views as we speak.

    Hey there Tin! Are you saying you rented two movies and it won't allow you to watch the first movie you rented? Will it let you watch the second movie? What error does it give you when you try to watch the first movie?
