error 0x91d70001

The only movie that having problem with error 0x91d70001 is Close Encounters of the Third Kind 4K Blu-ray.

I found semi workaround by setting Xbox1 video output to 1080p, started the movie. Then, go to setting and set the video output back to 4K. I can quit the Blu-ray player app and sometimes it still play the movie. Once I can get the movie to start playing,
it stays playing until to go to Xbox1 dashboard and leave it there for a while. After a while, the same error0x91d70001 is back.

Before I bought my 4K UHDTV, I have no problem playing the movie on 1080p TV.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind 1080p Blu-ray has no problem playing on Xbox1 Blu-ray app.

I also have several other 4K Blu-ray movies that have no problem playing on Xbox1 Blu-ray app. This means Microsoft broke Xbox1 Blu-ray player app in the recent update and never properly test the Blu-ray player app with many 4K movies.

I suggest Microsoft do more testing with Close Encounters of the Third Kind 4K Blu-ray to see if they can duplicate the error 0x91d70001

Hey there Vortex!

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with that peculiar issue trying to play Close Encounters.

I split your post off of the thread that it was originally on so that we can tailor our help to your situation's specific need. If this happened after the recent update, then I would suggest trying the steps on our support page entitled "My
Xbox One game won't start or freezes during gameplay" for the Blu-ray app.

If that doesn't do the trick and still forces you to do that funky workaround, then I would suggest a soft reset of your console.
It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

Also make sure that you select the option denoted
reset and keep my games and apps.

I had the exact same error code (0x91d70001) when trying to watch my new "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi" 4K Blu-ray, no other 4K titles (that I tried) were similarly affected. The method of ejecting the disc, unplugging and then
re-plugging the HDMI cable, before re-inserting the disc did work for me. However, to fix the issue permanently, I discovered that performing a full shutdown down of both the console and TV worked, so whether it was a HDCP issue of some variety is unknown.
Also, the issue with the 4K Blu-ray had persisted for almost a month before I tried the full shutdown, so I wasn't just hitting the issue on a bad day. Your mileage may vary but I hope this can be of help to someone.
