"Error 0x82D40003 Occurs when you launch a game" Black Ops 2 digital download

Recently I've had the above error coming up when I try and launch Call of Duty Black Ops 2 on my xbox one s.

The game is a digital download that I bought back on xbox 360, it has worked in the past on my xbox one and I think the last time I played it was back in August.

The only thing I can think of that may have affected it is that I have added another xbox as my home xbox within the past two weeks. I am still using the account that bought black ops 2 on the xbox with the error so, in theory, it should still work?

I resolved the issue by removing my account and then holding the power button on the xbox for 10 seconds, removing the power cord for 10 seconds and then starting it up again and adding the profile back.

Error 0x82D40003 occurs when you launch a game on Xbox One, I saw it said "If you have a game disc, insert it now. Otherwise, make sure you're signed in to Xbox Live. If you don't have rights for playing it, you'll need to buy it at Microsoft Store."

Was the disc for these games inserted or was this purchased as digital content? If this was purchased digitally then make sure the correct account is signed in. If this is on a disc then make sure the disc is clean and has no scratches.

By the way, is this for the Xbox One Platform or PC?

The error code present is a
licensing error ( 0x82D40003: This may mean we’re having trouble checking usage rights) we suggest firstly to

Remove and Re-add the account which owns the game from the console since it would clear up any issues on it. Give it a shot and let us know how it goes!

I fully removed the account from the xbox and readded the account but it still does not work, any other suggestions?

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this problem.

If you haven't already, I would totally suggest going through what we call a soft reset of your console.

It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

Also make sure that you select the option denoted
reset and keep my games and apps.

It's now coming up with "do you own this game or app?", I have proof that I have bought it (from a third party (G2A)) and redeemed it against this account.

Order History on the Microsoft account to make sure the license is there since this seems to be the issue. Also we suggest

I've just noticed this today with my copy. and it worked well 2 weeks ago.

 

Hello, Im having the same issue... I tried what you said and it didnt work for me. Is there anything else i can try?

 

I called xbox support and they told me it's been happening to almost all Black Ops 2 owners, and that they're working with Activision to fix it.

 

Mine is the exact same, I can't load and says do I own the game, even though it's digital, something major has happened. I have tried all steps mentioned above and still not working... sort it soon!!!

 

I hope they sort it out
