Error 0x80bd0009 - Cannot enable 5.1, 7.1, or Bitsream Audio

I just upgraded from Xbox One to One X. I have a Vizio M55-E0 and Yamaha RX-V679 sound system. Currently, I have the sound setup using the method in the image I included.



This used to work when I had the Xbox One and 1080p resolution, but since upgrading to One X and 4K, I get the error when I attempt to change from Stereo to one of these other settings. I believe it is the same problem as I found on this thread:

As with the cited thread, I am able to enable surround sound if I select input as HDMI instead of Auto. However, doing so disables 4K ability, and I'm stuck at 1080p. Some people seem to have had success in switching back to 4K and maintaining the surround
sound or bitsream setting, but that has not worked for me.

According to the support person there it has something to do with the EDID signal from the TV to the One X, which is preventing it from enabling surround sound. They indicated that although Microsoft support cannot fix the issue, y'all could give some guidance
in communicating with TV support, in this case Vizio, in order to speed the solution process. Any help would be welcome.

Cannot Set HDMI Audio to 5.1 or 7.1, Error 0x80bd0009

I have the following equipment: Xbox One Samsung TV F8000 Denon AVR X2000 7.1 Receiver The Xbox is connected directly to the TV. The receiver is also plugged directly into the TV and audio is sent to the receiver over HDMI using the audio return channel.
When I try to set the HDMI audio on the Xbox to 5.1 or 7.1 I get an error with the error code 0x80bd0009. Any ideas?

I put myself into the preview program on my One X to see if the fix you talking about fixes the issue that HugeM1stake and I have, it does not.
