Error 0x80a4000b

I just got my replacement XBOX One back from the repair center today. Upon connecting it, it updated fine over wireless and passes all of the connection tests for connectivity, multiplayer, and everything else in the connection test tab. However, I can't
sign in to XBOX Live. I get the 0x80a4000b error every time! Nothing with my connection has changed since my previous XBOX One went in for service and I had no connection issues with that one. I have tried 5GHz and 2.4GHz wireless, I have rebooted my router
and modem along with my XBOX One and still the same thing. This is incredibly frustrating and I am not happy!

That all seems to be unrelated to my Xbox throwing an error as soon as I click Add Account, but I went ahead and verified all my Security information was up to date anyways.

Still receiving error 0x80a4000b when I click Add Account.

Error 80A4000B occurs when signing in to an Xbox Live account on Xbox One

You see the following error message when you try to sign in to your Xbox Live account on your Xbox One console:

We couldn't sign you in. Try again in a few minutes, or check your account by

signing in to account.live.com.

80A4000B

This may mean one of the following:

•Your billing information for your Microsoft account needs to be updated.

•There’s a network connection issue.

Solutions

To resolve this problem, try the following solutions:

Solution 1: Verify your Microsoft Account security information

1.Sign in to your Microsoft account. Forgotten your password? Reset your password.

2.Click Edit security info.

3.Verify your security information. For example, make sure that your Phone number, Alternative email address and Security question information are correct.

4.Go to Billing and select Billing information.

5.Verify the billing information for your Microsoft account. For example, verify that the billing address for your Microsoft account matches the billing address used by your credit card company. Also make sure that your Microsoft account payment details,
including capitalisation, match the information that is used by your credit card company.

6.Sign out of your Microsoft account.

7.Sign in to Xbox Live on your Xbox One console.

Solution 2: Remove and recover your Xbox Live profile

Follow these steps to download a new version of your profile from the Xbox Live servers:

1.Remove your Xbox Live profile from the console:

a.Press the Menu button on your controller.

b.Select Settings.

c.Scroll to the right. Under OTHER PEOPLE, select Remove accounts. Select the profile that you want to remove.

d.Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Choose this person.

e.Select Remove from this Xbox to confirm.

f.When you’re finished, select Close.

2.Perform a hard reset of the console. To do this, press the Xbox button on the console until the console turns off and restarts.

3.Recover your profile to the console: a.Select Sign in in the upper-left corner of the Home screen.

b.Select Add new.

c.Enter your Microsoft account email address and password, and then select Enter.

d.Verify the privacy settings you’ve set for your account. These apply to any Xbox One console that you sign in to. Select Next.

e.On the Choose a colour screen, select the colour for your Home screen to differentiate between you and others using this console. Select Next.

f.You’ll be reminded of the gamerpic that’s associated with your profile. Select Next.

g.Select either Save my password or Keep asking for my password. Your profile is now downloaded to the console.

Solution 3: Power cycle your console and test your network connection

To power cycle, follow these steps:

1.Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem or gateway for five minutes. If you have both a router and a modem, unplug both devices.

2.Turn off your Xbox One console by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for 10 seconds.

3.After five minutes, plug the modem or gateway in and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4.If you’re using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

5.Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

Note If you don’t see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

Next, test your Xbox Live connection:

1.Press the Menu button on the Xbox One controller.

2.Select Settings.

3.Select Network.

4.On the right-hand side of the Network Settings screen, select Test network connection.

If you keep experiencing the problem, contact Xbox Support.

 

I tried all of that generic crap! The information in my Microsoft Account isn't relevant as there is no billing information in there and it's not necessary. However, it started working yesterday evening with nothing changed or done different here so it
had to be something related to whatever the issues were with Live last night.

I'm glad to hear it started to work.

On a side note the billing info may not be mandatory but always good to have your account up to date and in order specially if you would forget you password and have no access to your security proofs then the recovery form will ask the address to match up
what you have on file (if you have) then can grant you a reset link (if all other infos were correct).
