Error 0x80a40008 when trying to create Passkey

I have an Xbox One S and I have never been able to create a passkey.

Every time i try to create a passkey, I get error 0x80a40008.

I never have issues logging onto my Microsoft account using the full password.

I do not have an Xbox Live subscription.

My Microsoft account is the only account on the system.

I can log onto my account, purchase games, download content, etc. without issue.

I have removed my account and restarted the Xbox and I still get the error when trying to create the passkey.

This error occurs both during the account setup prompts and and after the account is setup via the settings menu.

Please help!

I'm sorry Javier, my op wasn't clear. I have tried these recommended solutions prior to posting.

Solution 1 - I do not have xbox live

Solution 2 - everything is good

Solution 3 - unsuccessful after multiple attempts both when adding the account and after adding the account via settings

Solution 4 - my account is the only account in the console

Our error code lookup tool actually provides a recommendation regarding the error being received:

Error 80A40008 occurs due to a connectivity or account issue on Xbox One

Please attempt to follow the linked page, and then let us know if this helped resolve the issue.

Thanks for keeping us updated with your replies. In relation to the passkey being affected by the Xbox app, that isn't possible as passkeys are device specific to your profile. For example, having a passkey set up on your profile via one console will not
in effect on a different console where you have not chosen a passkey for access when adding your profile.

I recommend you try
removing then re-adding your profile to the console, if you haven't already, to see if this will then allow you to fully create the passkey for the profile correctly. Should you still receive the same error message, you may then wish to use our Xbox
One Network Connection Error Solution to see what may be disallowing your profile to make this change that requires internet access.

Give this a try and let us know the results.

Thanks for reaching out to Xbox forums support.

If you haven't already done so, go ahead and try performing a Soft console Factory
reset on your console by doing the following:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Settings.
Select All Settings.
Select System.
Select Console info & updates.
Select Reset console. [KEEP MY GAMES AND APPS]

Make sure you have both your email and password on hand as you will be asked to sign back in. There is an option to delete everything and to save your games and apps; choose the latter.

Could this have something to do with my Microsoft account also being used on an Xbox app on my Windows 10 PC?

I don't think I've ever used the Xbox app on my PC, but Windows 10 loves to install
