Error 0x80820002 - Disc spins and stops regularly before giving error message

Hi,

My Xbox One has recently developed an issue where it won't play any discs that I put into the console. When I put the disc in, it will spin for a second and then stop, and this will continue until I get the error message:

"Restart the app, then try again. Make sure you are using an Xbox One game, a music DD, or a movie on Blu-ray or DVD. (0x80820002)

There is no grinding noise, and the disc is not damaged when I then eject it.

Any help would be much appreciated as it's very annoying not being able to play my game discs - my downloaded copy of FIFA works absolutely fine.

Xbox One won't recognize any Xbox 360 disc (Fallout 3 / Mass Effect)

Just tried doing a hard reset, and the error message 0x80820002 reappeared when I inserted the disc. When I ejected and reinserted it the error message did not show up, but nothing else happened.

 

Go into settings/Disc&Blu-Ray then choose Blu-Ray, Click on persistent storage then click on clear persistent storage do this a couple of times hope this helps.

 

If the above doesn't work, Go into all settings power choose power mode choose energy saving once done press and hold console button for ten seconds then power up, Try a disc if it works you can revert back to instant on mode, if it still fails you will
need to request a repair.

 

Both failed so checked it in for repair - cheers anyways
