    Really frustrating with Xbox Series X setup process! We just bought the console and set first time Microsoft accounts with family members profiles for the children to limit the screen time, but now my kids require me to log in into my own profile before they can play on their own family profiles, as when starting the console on their profiles, when opening a game, they get the error message "The person who bought this needs to sign in" 0x803f9006. The console should allow them to play any games purchased for our house without having me to log in first every single time as long their profile are part of our family accounts! And why even requiring Microsoft accounts for the children instead of having in-console users? And then, when they play a game on their profile, I get the cover of that game on my profile wall like if that was the last game I've played. This can only be bad software design or bugs. Really disappointed with Microsoft. Other thing, is why my kids can view on their own profiles set for 13 years old my full game list that includes titles for ages above? Only when they start a game for ages above the console blocks the game. The age validation should occur when showing the list, not after!

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    Just a friendly reminder though that the family setting is made to manage a child's account, it does not mean that the subscription and games will be shared to them.

    The good thing here, Microsoft has a Home Xbox feature where you can share all of your games and apps as long as your account is set as Home Xbox.

    1. Sign in to your account.

    2. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    3. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

    4. Check "Make this as My Home Xbox"

    Gamepass sharing logs out main account

    I signed out. But when she tries to use any game from gamepass she gets an error stating “the person who bought this needs to sign in. Sign in with the account that bought the game and installed the app”. So then I sign back in and she’s able to use gamepass on her account. Which logs me out of my game session on my series x.

    XBOX game pass ultimate UK region. 2 xbox (one S one X).

    Both suggestions seem the same. I tried it. Does not work.

    My series s is NOT set as home and only my account with xgu is signed in and playing.

    My series x is set as home console and tried playing as a child. It complained that I am already playing. Asked me if i want to logout on the x. I did that. Only child was left logged in. Then game would not launch. Said person that bought it needs to be signed in. Frustrating.

    I just hard restarted my xbox by powering it off and then unplugging the power cord for 30 seconds. I have wiped the cache, and now I am getting an error that I have gotten before that says "The person who bought this needs to sign in" "sign in with the
    progile used for purchase, or buy a copy from the Microsoft Store. (0x803f9006)" However, I am logged in, and can see online friends etc...

    If this is how a $500 piece of technology is going to work, I am going to simply take it back and get a refund. I have no problems going to PC and playing.
