    I have the disc version of Minecraft Xbox 1 Edition Favorites pack. It had't been played for awhile and my son went to play it about a week ago. He had the disc in and it would only load the trial version. I attempted a uninstall/reinstall with the same
    results. After almost 3 hours with Xbox Chat we were able figured it out. Some how the trail version was downloaded on the account and wasn't allowing the disc to run. We removed the account that had the trial on it and was able to download everything but
    the 2 battle and beast skins. This was at 7 am Aug 3, 2017. An hour later my son got up was excited to play some minecraft. I had shut the console down, he started the xbox 1 inserted the disc launched it and got Do you own this game or disc error 0x803f8001.
    We took the disc out, put it back in and relaunched the game and got the same error. I did a power cycle, turned on the xbox 1 and inserted the disc launched the game and it worked fine. However if we played something else and then went back to play Minecraft
    it would give the same error, we would power cycle and it would work. On 8/4/2017 we went to play minecraft and got the same error. Tried the power cycle and it still gave the error. This is the only game we have an issue with. I don't have Gold -Live.
    We always play offline. What is going on?

    My Grand Theft Auto on Xbox One S is not working

    Thanks for the reply! Regarding the error code that you received,
    0x803F8001,     would you happen to own the game on disc? If you’re playing a disc-based game, insert the game disc into the Xbox console. If the disc is already inserted, see
    Troubleshoot problems playing a disc on Xbox One. If you happen to have bought the game digitally, then please make sure that you are signed into
    the same profile used for the initial purchase.

    You may need service if it is on all discs and you have tried the below.

    Solution

    Insert the game disc. Even though the game might already be installed on this Xbox, we need the physical disc to check the license before we can launch it.

    If the disc is already loaded, see if it’s dirty or scratched. If needed, wipe the disc with a soft, clean, slightly damp cloth. Hold the disc by the edges without touching the top or bottom faces.

    Then re-insert it and try launching again.
