    Error 0x80073d0d - Cannot install certain games


    Receiving error 0x80073d0d when downloading games from the Xbox app on PC.

    This only occurs with certain games (Disney Dreamlight Valley, Eville) while not with others (Ni no Kuni, Solasta, Deathloop).

    I have done a wipe of all installed Xbox games within my drives, uninstalled the Xbox app, completed all updates (video drivers, windows updates, etc), clean wiped the C:\Program Files\WindowsApps after changing the ownership to ensure no traces of Xbox game installs, installed a brand new SSD, then a reinstall of the Xbox app to no avail. I even reached out to Microsoft phone support and I was put through to Tier 2. After an hour discussion, their only advised solution was to wipe my entire computer (clean install of Windows) to see if that would fix the problem, which of course is not something I am willing to do.

    In case anyone else stumbles upon the same error code, I want them to be able to find the answer quickly. My solution was to follow the steps found in a forum from 2017 located here:

    An over 2 week concern has now been resolved.

    I did, and it won't let me install minecraft, let alone let me reinstall it. It finishes the download, says "Something happened on our end" in the Microsoft store, and gives me error code "0x80073D0D"

    Thank you for your post. I understand you are looking to change the installation directory for Xbox games on Windows 10. To do so, please open the app, click on your profile picture, select Settings, and choose the General tab. In the general tab, you can
    select the desired installation drive under "Drive selection".
