    Error 0x80073CF3 occurs when I try to install Back4Blood (PCGAMEPASS) on Windows 10 device


    was playing this game on launch day through GAMEPASS. Was having some software issues from app install and had WMI pegging my cpu at 20% with a rapidly (5hz) changing PID in task manager. Couldnt figure it out so i pulled chute and reinstalled Windows through RECOVERY.

    After install and launch of xbox app BACK4BLOOD shows error Error 0x80073CF3. Try some stuff no dice. Figure maybe some gremlins remained? Reinstall windows this time accepting total loss of files + clean the drive. Reinstallation goes without problem. Updates finish, restart system download xbox app, login. ERROR Error 0x80073CF3

    The download seemed to start at reach about 2% and in the bottom notification screen i noticed a PCI-e must restart notification pop up as the download stopped progressing and errored out.

    How does one start tracking down where to even begin with this?

    TLDR; Fresh clean install through windows recovery. Still receiving Error 0x80073CF3 in xbox app for certain game installs. In the past ive received the same error for multiple games inlcuding ORI blind forest, MSFS2020 and now back 4 blood.

    Hmmm weird! I was going to suggest a Windows 10 wipe, but I'm really glad it got solved at the end!

    So I ended up gaining access but unfortunately im not exactly sure what it was that opened it up.

    Some stuff I did on my fresh Windows10 install after storage wipe and clean.

    I noticed my PC was not able to access Teredo in the xbox networking test. So I jumped into my router settings and deleted my static ip and made a new one. Not sure this was it because it still says unable to qualify and server connectivity blocked but I was just playing online without any hitches

    Reset the clock and date settings and ensured correct timezone

    ensured I was on correct region

    logged out of store and xbox app

    I noticed the GAMING SERVICES was giving me the same error and then when I looked back into the download queue the GAMING SERVICES had successfully updated. I clicked retry on the game and it successfully, although slowly, downloaded to completion.
