Error 0x80072F8F. Console is bricked.

This error keeps persisting.

I haven't used my XBoneS in a few days and now I'm unable to do anything. I can't play any games, even offline.

Console has forgotten my wifi network and when i go to set it up again, it tries to connect and returns the error message. When i go to "Check network connection" it wants to set up my network again.

I've tried an ethernet cable and its the same result.

I've restarted it, turned it off completely and pulled out the plug, i've reset my router. My actual internet connection is fine (as i'm posting this).

I've run out of ideas. Was there some system update this week?

Errors updating

hi I’m having issues updating my console I keep getting three error codes

0x80072f8f 0x00000000 0x00000200

Have restarted everything and no luck my network is working fine and I can’t work it out

 

I am in the exact same situation mate. Haven't used my console for about two weeks, it was fine.

Turned it on this morning and greeted with the exact same errors.

I have exhausted every option they suggest to fix it, offline updates etc, with no luck.

Sounds like an update has rendered our consoles useless.

 

Been on chat a few times, and Microsoft are pretty much sticking their middle finger up at this and wanting to charge me $180AU to send it in.

That is a joke when there is nothing wrong with the hardware at all.

They escalated my chat and a team manager got on. After going through the whole thing a fourth time, with their only solution being, send it in to get repaired at my cost of $180AU (which I said is pretty close to the cost of buying a new console)

This team manager said this:

Yes. I definitely have the feels for this case. If I only have the option to process it for free, I would gladly do it. My heart always belongs to the customers. However, we are grounded by the policy. Perhaps it is time to really buy a new one? Anyhow,
we can always process a repair for you with the option we have provided."

How bloody disgusting.

They send out an update, which has broken several peoples consoles, and they expect us to pay for it!

In the same boat, I've even tried swapping drives on this thing.

Ran through even possible fix , reset to factory and tried support they also offered repair of $180AU........

Mistakes happen.. I get it... but don't make it the customers problem.

 

Mine has now allowed the latest update as of this morning (AU time)
