    Error 0x80070490 when downloading Forza Horizon 3 October patch


    As the title says, I am getting this error when updating Forza Horizon 3. When the update fails there are 5 windows errors that are shown in the Windows Event Viewer.

    I have tried the Windows Store diagnostic tool which cleared the store cache and I also tried re-registering the windows store apps as per these instructions Re-register Modern Apps in Windows 10 / Windows 8.1| MW8.
    These haven't worked so far.

    The solution for me was to create a windows installer using the Media Creation tool and do a clean install and choose the option to keep all apps and files. This fixed the issue and I did not lose any programs, files or configurations I had before.
