Error 0x800700b7, nothing MS Store/Xbox related will install.

For months now I haven't been able to install any game, receiving the rather vague "Something Unexpected Happened" and error code "0x800700b7" which appears to have been reused over the years from a google search, sadly none following my recent issue.

What little I have noticed is this is related to the "Gaming Services" app that did not exist when I first subscribed. This app will not install no matter what I do. It downloads 65kb and throws up the same error as above. Games also only download 65kb and
give the exact same error, which I imagine is because of gaming services yet again?

What I have done:

Sfc scan

Powershell get app for gaming services and even all apps

Disabling IPV6 on all adapters

Wsreset

Disabling Windows Defender and its Firewall (there is NO other AV/FW software installed)

A clean boot with nothing else running

Repair re-installing W10 entirely through the media creation tool

And now I'm at a loss.

(I am the administrator and also the ONLY account on the system)

I tried all of these to no avail. The error repeated on every disk drive and even new solid state media. I am relatively certain there is a large bug in the UWP delivery system at this point, looking at the feedback hub for this issue (only visible when
reporting it) I've seen dozens of the same report, one with over TWO THOUSAND upvotes (which there translates to "I have the error too" afaik).

Unfortunately, nothing worked, I could not install or update anything from the MS store, not even Microsoft Tips.

So I gave up, formatted and a completely fresh install works as it should. This does however confirm to me it is not my hardware (or software as now I am running all same content) causing it but nasty bug. I hope MS will eventually give it
a proper look.

sorry to hear. You can install the GamingServices like this:

Launch powershell as an administrator and enter “get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers”
In the same powershell window, enter “start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN”
Install the app on that page, including accepting the UAC prompt when shown.

The xbox app is still in beta and some issues are to be expected. Just report it thrugh the app so support can be aware of it.

Unfortunately, I have tried those exact steps already and they simply give me the same error code. I have also tried reinstalling the entire app catalogue through powershell with no luck.
